Peter, along-distance lorry driver, gives a lift to 16 years old hitch-hiker outside Bristol. As the boy confides in him, Peter discovers that John has run away from home after a violent row with his incle. The police are making a nationwide search for John. John’s uncle has been found dead and the police want to question the boy.
